Great outdoor range.
We enjoyed it, made use of the pistol area. Thanks!
Great range! Very clean, pit toilet was as good as they ever are, and there's no charge. They have a 25, 50, and 100 yard range, so perfect for sighting in anything. When I went there was no range master present.
A great outdoor shooting range for all types of firearms. It does suck that people have already been stupid and started messing the place up. *You will want to bring your own string & clips to tie up your targets.
Great range, and price is right. 😄 Because it is free I always clean up, take trash with me, and I always bring string, wire, binder clips, cardboard backers etc... to contribute a little. No RSO or staff on site, so communicate with others and be aware of your situation. I've met some great fellow shooters here. Benches and rests are in good shape. Ill continue to go!
Clean, quiet and different distance options. And it's free.
I took a cpl class here and everyone was respectful and understanding. Definitely going here again!
Nice range. Please pack out your trash; some peeps do not. There is one large trash receptacle on site. Also a cinder block outhouse which I didn't use. No idea what condition that is in. *** No range officer on duty. *** *** Watch down range close. *** People may not warn that they are heading downrange to change targets. I noticed this was a case between the 50 ft and 100 ft range. There is no burm separating these two ranges. There are no restrictions on gun types other than .80 caliber and larger are restricted. If you are offended by rapid fire, this might not be the place for you. 1st trip was a June saturday, mid-day. There were shooters at all ranges but more than enough room to settle in. 2nd trip was a June week day. Only one other shooter was there. I recommend taking 100 feet of clothesline, or other like rope, to string between the set 4x4s used to suspend targets. The stuff currently in place may be badly shot up. The 100 ft range can get very windy, take lots of clothespins or other devices to secure your target to the clothesline. One of the photos added by another shows 4x8 sheets of plywood or OSB board for mounting targets. This is not the case. If you keep your brass, there are brooms and dustpans to sweep it up. Sometimes people will come by to pick up the brass. Most people ask before assuming you don't want yours. Again... Please be considerate and leave it better than you found it. Pack out your trash
For a free public facility this place is great. Not a lot of traffic during weekdays outside of hunting season. Clean, accessible pit toilet, ample parking. The shooting shelters have seen better days as it appears Mr. Magoo has been visiting the range frequently. Three bays for 10 yard pistol only have no screen so brass from your neighbor gets blown around a lot. Three bays for 25 yard rifle or pistol. Separated by a huge berm are 3 rifle bays at 50 yards and 3 at 100 yards. Hopefully the DNR will replace shelters soon, add screens to pistol bays, and improve target hanging, which now is just two ropes, often shot to pieces, strung between wood posts. If you have your own target stand bring it. Bring string and clothespins to hang your targets. Parking, pit toilet and all shooting bays are ADA accessible.
