It was a decent range to go to, until the new owner took over. For starters, the range has always been and still remains donation based. But, whereas before they would give you a gentle reminder to donate, now they harass you until you donate. They took away the steel gong targets, When inquired they will site "for safety reasons" they were removed. I thought this sounded like a load of nonsense, but I understood. That is until the new guy they have running the joint gave me his version of a "safety brief" at a 134 words per minute. I seriously thought this guy was about to pass out because he had to stop and catch his breath halfway through. But the worst part, it is now officially anybody's guess as to when this range is open. Before you could check Google and it was fairly reliable, However yesterday marked the third time I've visited during "open" hours just to find the gate locked and a cardboard sign reading "closed" and some other things ( I'll admit that I didn't stop to read the rest ). If the stars align and you somehow find yourself there when they are open, it really isn't a bad range. The benches are great and the gun range office is usually heated for when you need to warm up. I just thought anyone new should have a fair warning.
