Tango Down Range

I went to this shooting range for the first time today and thanks to Melvin I had an incredible experience thanks again for your help and making shooting here a great experience!

Favorite local range. They're great to veterans and I do 90% of my shooting here. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.

Jim, the owner, is amazing to work with. We came out for a glamping trip. His instruction was top notch, as we left my wife (a far better shot) told me how much she’d felt we’d both improved. I highly recommend to everyone especially newbies and those on the fence about guns as proper instruction is key and Jim’s experience in law enforcement lends a lot to his teaching.

Off the beaten path but worth a visit. Facilities are good with covered tables at each lane. Staff during my visit was very friendly. They stress safety, which is as it should be. I'll be making regular visits.

So glad we found this place, all of the other reviews are well-deserved and spot on with noting the welcoming vibe and RSO’s who don’t ruin your fun while still keeping things safe. It’s tough to find a casual outdoor range within a couple hour drive around here that isn’t membership-only, and we stumbled across Tango Down on the map by accident. Decided to give it a shot, packed up, and rolled an hour and a half out there from MD on a Saturday. It wasn’t packed but still some people there, RO was super welcoming & actually seemed to enjoy being there, cost is super fair at $20/hr per person (not per lane, which was amazing)/$15 for Vets/first responders, and the space was clean with plenty of targets for our long guns and pistols. The driveway entry is indeed loose gravel like others have mentioned, but my lowered wagon made it fine despite some of the rain washout. The actual range area was a nicely paved asphalt lot down a hill with parking at the top, and my only qualm was that it’s a west-facing range, so the the direct sun dipped below cover in late afternoon which made novice shooting a bit tough but still good to get some experience with the challenge. Really appreciate that the RO let us take my car down the hill to load up before heading out, too! We’re definitely looking forward to coming back very soon and will plan smarter with timing and go earlier in the day. Thanks again, this area needs more options like y’all!
