It was my first ever visit to a shooting range. Staff were friendly and the site looked good.
Service was horrible over the phone from a woman and a man in the sales department. Even after spending a lot of money. Made me regret purchasing here.
This place and website look great, but!!! It’s way overpriced, you will get nickled and dimed. Staff is stuffy and come across like they know everything and you are below them. Just go to Roanoke range and training or anywhere else nearby. They may not look as pretty but they will treat you right.
This review is regarding the handgun safety course from the perspective of a woman veteran with many years of firearms training. Instead of the unsolicited, extremely sexist and political Ted Talk wrapped in the faux cover of instruction, why don't you present a to-the-point and professional safety course to paying customers? You are going to have people of all sexes, races, and backgrounds taking this course for a multitude of reasons. It is fine to make a course with dry material fun, but I did not feel welcome after the 4th or 5th, "har, har, woman stereotype joke, laugh please," bullshit line, and that was well before consistently derailing the instruction into political beliefs presented in a childish, demeaning manner. Before we entered the class, we had planned on purchasing a pre-owned Kel Tec 9mm and additional ammunition presented by a sales associate who was both pleasant and knowledgeable. Should this course have gone well, this could have been our local sales hub for the hobby. However, my money and guidance to others will be for another business at this time.
Worth the membership if you enjoy shooting like we do. Great staff; always ready to help and educate if need be. Safe practices and fun targets. Range safety’s are knowledgeable and safe.
Matthew and the entire team at Safeside were not just incredibly kind and helpful, but also beyond knowledgeable. I went to two local shops before this and regretted wasting my time anywhere else. At Safeside, I felt respected and supported from the moment I walked in. Matthew took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly, without any pressure or judgment. Their inventory is well-stocked with a wide selection of firearms and accessories, and the store is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Prices are fair and the team is refreshingly honest—no gimmicks or upselling, just solid advice. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, this is exactly the kind of place you hope to find. I’ll definitely be back for future purchases and training.
Friendly staff. Fair prices. Sue is a great instructor
