Always great!
Awesome range and a professional range master.
There are some restrictions, but it is a nice range and can’t complain about the price if you have a VT hunting license.
Laughable rules. Terrible hours. Grumpy range staff. You could be the only person shooting there and they’ll yell at you over something stupid like shooting more than one round per second. What a joke.
I'm surprised at the negative reviews I just read, and felt the desire to chime in. I could be wrong in my take (and welcome correction where necessitated): (1) The somewhat restricted hours and firing rate are most likely in place to keep nearby residences/property owners happy so they don't have to wake up or come home to the sound of shooting every day. It would seem that the weekend/weekday combo should allow for most rangegoers to find a time that works, and give the nearby residents a break. Even as a shooter, if I lived nearby, I'd want a break from hearing firearms. (2) The range is most likely majority funded by hunting/fishing license fees and matching federal Pittman Robertson funds, and less by tax dollars. Where I've lived out West, we didn't even have public ranges. We had to pay membership fees for any range access, so this range seems like a pretty sweet deal. Private ranges can afford to offer extended hours and shooting opportunities because the public doesn't have a say. (3) My guess is that there's an outlet for constructive feedback with VTF&W either by calling, visiting in person, or attending one of their planning hearings.
Great place to shoot. Had to sight in my AR. Unfortunately I forgot my binoculars. The range officer brought over his for me to use. All around great experience.
Very helpful!
Great outdoor range, tucked away off the beaten path. Nicely maintained. Hayden, the man working there, was super helpful.
It's a range. The hours need to be extended. It's the people who work that pay for this range with tax money and yet they can't use it because it closes at 3pm. Secondly you can't teach a child how to safely use a firearm when the range closes as soon as they get out of school. Vermont liberalism at it's finest.
