We were excited that they reopened this shooting range, but that changed once we were there. Now I know the reasons for the rules and safety because one little mess up could be life changing, so this post is not about being disobedient to the rules. It was during a cease fire and there were still people retrieving their targets. I was behind the white line waiting for others, so I decided to switch out my ear protection because my ear cuffs were getting too hot. So I stepped across the white to retrieve my ear protection and was immediately yelled at by one of the employees/volunteers that I was riding the line of breaking the rules and that I needed to plan better, even though it was still cease fire and people were retrieving their targets. After that moment the "fun and excitement" left and my group and I hurried to sight in our gun and left. Im not sure if we'll be back.
Great experience. They have fixed it up nice since it has reopened. The staff was friendly.
DC County Range is again open. Public range times on the weekends
The range is very well put together, and the digital safety waiver and online payment options are a welcome change! Digging the newly renovated range facilities. I love the taller side berms and fresh paint, everything matches! My 4-year-old and I had a great time shooting our steel targets. The experience with the volunteer RO's was very pleasant. They were professional and safety minded. It's great to have a space where we can shoot as members of the public without having to drive to the mountains or desert.
So happy it’s back open and you can pay online!
