We came here a few months ago to shoot with some members of my family who were in town. Rooftop was fantastic. They did a great job of ensuring everyone was safe and knew how to use their firearm properly without talking down to anyone. The facilities are great. You get your own bay, and there are a lot of steel targets, including plate racks. The customer service is top notch as well. We’ll definitely be back, it’s the best outdoor range for training in DFW.

Great range environment, probably better suited for the more advanced shooters with a focus on self defense rather than just casual "target practice". One of the few ranges that allow dynamic shooting, shooting while moving, drawing from a holster, shooting steel ect. Staff is very professional and friendly, but is also willing to get involved when the inevitable idiot trys to play Rambo or has a general disregard for the safe operation of firearms. If you take firearm training seriously, and need a dynamic range, this is the spot. If you bought a glock and keep it in your closest and think you want to try to shoot it for the first time, this is probably not the place for you. The problem with idiots is they dont know they are idiots, someone ends up having to tell them. If you think there is a chance you are an idiot, try any of the indoor ranges around the metroplex. The indoor McRange has bullet proof glass between the lanes to keep stupid people from shooting other stupid people. Rooftop has less protection against stupidity, which is necessary to train in more realistic ways. In conclusion, just to make sure my point is as clear as possible. If you are law enforcement, military, or an armed civilian that REALLY puts effort into actual SELF DEFENSE shooting and understand the risk in that activity, this specific range is truly a unicorn. I highly recommend it, you've found your spot. If you take a more casual approach to shooting, dont carry a weapon daily, dont have someone who closely resembles that type of person that is willing to train you.... just go to a McRange in town please.

Hands down the best gun range I’ve been to since moving to Dallas! I became a member after just two visits because of the freedom you have to shoot there. The owner is very knowledgeable and Sean the range officer is always dropping gems on me. I’ve become I better shooter because of the tips and tricks Sean has given me over the past few months. Love this place!!!

Headed out to Rooftop this morning to shoot with some friends. I was a bit unsure of what to expect, but I met with the range officer and he was very nice. He was helpful and guided us through the process to get set up and ready to shoot. It has everything you need and makes shooting more enjoyable b/c everything you need is there. Will definitely be going back in the future and likely will become a member. Thanks for letting us enjoy it and keep up the good work.

Awesome place to practice shooting … drastically better than standing in one place on a flat range. Stands and steel are provided in the bays, a convenient store is on site that has shooting supplies, drinks (no not alcohol lol) and other odds and ends you may need… all I have to do is bring my gun and gear. Highly recommended.

Rooftop isn’t just a shooting range — it’s an experience, and a damn good one at that. My husband and I have been members here for a while now, and I genuinely can’t say enough good things about it. Peter Kim and his wife have built something really special — and it shows in every single detail. We’ve taken rifle classes directly from Peter, and one of the things I loved was his data-driven, scientific approach. It wasn’t just “shoot and guess” — it was about tracking real progress, and for someone like me who appreciates tangible improvement, this made all the difference. It made me feel empowered, skilled, and for once, confident — especially as a woman in a space that’s usually dominated by men. Peter is building an impressive empire and legacy, with intention. Every bay is thoughtfully equipped with trash cans, target stands, various steel targets, tables, and canopies. There’s even an on-site store where you can scan a QR code and pay right from your phone — no fuss, no attitude, just ease. You can tell this was built by someone who actually shoots and understands what customers need, and this will get him customers for life! As someone who works in customer experience for a living, I don’t say this lightly: every aspect of Rooftop has the customer in mind. You can feel that care — from the layout to the people, and the improvements never stop. Every time we show up, something new is being added or enhanced and Peter’s constantly leveling it up. Again, although this is very male dominated, I've never felt anything other than accepted. I've been treated like a true friend from day 1, by everyone. The community Peter has built is incredible. In addition to all of this,Peter constantly gives back. He does a ton of volunteer work and fundraising, and even helped the Trenton Police Department get properly equipped with service pistols — among many other philanthropic efforts. He’s not just building a business — he’s building a legacy. We’re seriously so damn proud to be members here. Rooftop is our go-to range, and we recommend it to everyone we know. If you’re even thinking about it — stop. Just go. You’ll never want to shoot anywhere else again. it is an honor to belong here!!!!!

Rooftop Shooting Range in Trenton, TX, is a top-notch outdoor facility for serious shooters! The well-maintained bays, steel and stands for your USPSA targets, and thoughtful layout make every visit a great training session. Pete and the team are incredibly knowledgeable, fostering a safe, welcoming vibe perfect for all skill levels. The community feel and expert instruction elevate it to THE best range in North Texas. Highly recommend for training or just a fun day out. Sean, the Safety Officer, is also super friendly and helpful. I love their shop too. It has everything you need just in case your forget something, but more importantly, it’s fully stocked with all my favorite GHOST flavors.
