Stay away from this place unless you like to be disrespected. I don’t normally leave reviews but felt the need to leave this place a review STAY AWAY. Upon walking in I was greeted with the normal stuff shooting ranges require, safety video small shop in the range, pretty cool stuff. The staff at the front however was extremely rude, I came in with my in-laws and my wife’s younger brother who was new to shooting. I myself am not the most experienced but have gone to various ranges. The way me and my in laws were treated was unacceptable as we are all new to shooting in general we immediately met with staff who was very brief with us not very explanatory about anything. We got to the range problems continued, my father in law had apparently mishandled the fire arm not keeping the barrel down range so the person said something to him fine enough. The way the instructor approached my father in law screaming and getting into his face was ridiculous. Yes safety matters I agree with saying something but I don’t agree with getting into his face the way he did it’s not like my father law was aiming at people in the range he was just excited from shooting for the first time in a while and had already ejected the empty clip. I personally was very respectful to the staff trying to mediate these issues with my family but overall ruined this experience for us pretty disappointing won’t be coming back. Staff talks to you like your children while acting like children 👍🏼

NEVER COMING BACK I have come here multiple times throughout the years. This will be the last time I shoot here. Myself and a friend came here to shoot a Mossberg Shockwave, shooting from the hip on the Rifle side of the range, the RSO allowed us to do so for over an hour. Then a worker from the front came over to the rifle side of the range, stood a few feet behind me and on my 2nd shot told me to STOP STOP STOP shooting and claimed that I had shot the top railing box that the target clamps to, near the ceiling. He also stated I wasn’t allowed to shoot from the hip. Even though he already watched me shoot from the hip before and the initial RSO didn’t say anything about me shooting from the hip. I unloaded the firearm and spoke to him stating I didn’t hit the rail he continued to say I did, however me, my friend and the original RSO that had been watching us for over an hour, stated he didn’t see that happen. This guys stuck to his story of seeing sparks fly from the rail. When we pulled the target in there was a finger nail size scrape on the metal box that slides on the railing. He stated that this came from a 12G slug. I told him several times I did not believe I hit that metal box, he insisted I did. Then radioed to another guys told him about the “incident” in which the other guy replied “Are you sure that scrape isn’t from the other day and just hasn’t been repainted yet” he says no it’s new. I took a moment to walk down the line there was one or two other boxes on different lanes that had scrapes from previous shooters. That had not been repainted yet. This guys then proceeded to say it was a $75 damage fee. The issues here are he first claimed I broke a rule “no shooting from the hip” however watched me shoot from the hip and had no problem with it for the first shot. The first RSO didn’t say anything for over an hour. He then switched his story and stopped with the “no hip fire” made up rule Then he asked another person about the scrap he saw on the box and the other person states on the radio that there are other scrapes and could it possibly be old that has not been repainted. He replied no this is not old. That level of uncertainty and doubt, they are okay with claiming a person did the wrong thing and charging them with absolutely no hard proof. The other issue is why is the “damage fee” $75 they literally use black spray paint to cover the scrapes used by people that hit the box on the rail. A range that is already expensive enough, looking for any way to make more money and willing to lose a customer over something they couldn’t prove for what “$75” Solid work NEVER COMING BACK If you look at all the poor reviews of this place, all of they’re responses are aimed at it’s the “customers fault” never once do these guys own any of their mistakes, apologize and try to make it right. READ other low reviews, and see how much this company actually cares about their customers.

This place is awesome!!!! I am looking for a new concealed carry and their variety of rentals available was exactly what I was looking for. Their staff was nothing but professional and courteous and super helpful offer suggestions to the list I had coming. The range was awesome as well. It was clean and easy to operate. I would highly recommend giving this range a try!!!

After hearing horror stories of other ranges in the area I dropped into Shady Oaks to test the waters and zero my rifle. The staff was immensely professional and very approachable. Seems like a safe facility without the egotistical fudd in duty. Shout out to Lee, my safety officer, who basically just hung out with me during my session and made the experience safe and enjoyable.

Rude and incompetent staff. Will not be returning. Like others experience, they are condescending and act like they are the gate keepers of all things shooting because they control gun range access. Having a very established military, competitive shooting, and instructing background and be talked to like a child isn't cool.

Visited for the first time today, nice clean facility, nice staff, has an archery range which was a pleasant surprise, price was excellent. . Some quirks, like the time stamp machine, but that does not bother me. Unfortunately, The 25m pistol range is as dark as a cave. Enough to make maintaining a sight picture problematic. I'm not sure why, a brightly lit firing line would be a positive from a safety standpoint. Maybe the 50m rifle side is better? In any case, I won't be returning for that reason.
