Great place! RSOs are super helpful and dont mind giving instructions and helping you out with tips, tricks, or simple advice. 10/10 I recommend that shoots both new and experienced try this range especially with it only being $10.75 and you can bring your own targets!

The facilities are nice, but the range personnel consists of a bunch of older guys who try to micro-manage every move you make. For this reason, this range is more appropriate for the novice shooter who needs that rigid structure to safely operate. If you are a more experienced shooter who doesnt need or want someone telling you that you cant transport a firearm onto or off of the range holstered on your waist or an empty rifle slung (must be in a case), then this place isnt for you. I wanted to draw from the holster, and when I asked the older dude if I could, there was a long pause, and he said "I really rather you wouldn't." You'll have about 3 safety officers staring at you at any given time and they clear your weapons for you when you come onto the range. I guess this is appropriate for an area like Antioch - they probably deal with a lot of idiots that shouldn't be handling firearms. I won't be back though. The excessive structure and rules really slows things down and is kind of a drag.

If you want to go to an actual outdoor gun range, this is your place. They don't sell ammo, but they do sale targets. This facility is very laid back, and it only costs $10.50 to shoot for an "hour." A few months ago, it was only $8 to shoot per hour. But because of inflation and the economy, they had to up it up a little bit. But that's fine by me. Due to the fact that for a mere $10.50, you can shoot for almost as long as you want or until you run out of bullets, as long as the facility isn't busy, due to the fact that people there are very calm, chilled and relaxed, these are gun guys, 2A guys and all they want for you to do is respectfully, have fun period. Listen to the orders they give you, do as they say, and all will be good. They have a pistol range that goes out to about fifteen yards if i'm not mistaken, and then they have a rifle range. I'm not entirely sure about the pistol range, but the river range has. It's 20 lanes, with lanes 19 and 20 being 200 yards only. This facility is the next best thing compared to going to your buddy's house and shooting on their property. Do yourself and everyone a favor and go visit and support this facility. It is a state funded facility, and those guys are volunteer workers. Help keep an actual range open. It's not just some reinforce, extra loud, oversized room.

Decent range. RSOs do a good job keeping things running safely, but unfortunately seem understaffed. Unfortunately due to inexperienced shooters they are currently changing their rules to exclude unbraced long guns and rate of fire devices like super safetys and forced resets from the range, which is disappointing. As a gun owner i very much dont appreciate rules being written around bad actors instead of just punishing the bad behavior with fines and banishment. Fee is fair, people are great, the state reps writing the rules are 👎
