Saluda River Archery

The good people at Saluda River Archery took me from zero to hero. I went there 2 years ago to begin my adventure in the archery world. Ryan guided me through the selection, set-up, and purchase of my first compound bow. In preparation for my first out of state hunt Ryan polished up my skill with a lesson and the Saluda River team tuned my bow and made sure I was good to go. This I successfully harvested a bull elk in New Mexico’s infamous unit 53. This wouldn’t have been possible without the Saluda River team!

I bought a brand new Mathew’s Lift 33’ from Saluda River. I was unsure whether to get the 27.5’ or the 33’. I shot both and went with the 33’. The 33’ I shot was not the color I wanted so I found the color I wanted and had them change all the mods so that I would fit me. When I got home the FIRST time I pulled the bow back I was around 60-75% of my draw length and the string came off of the bow. I took the bow back up there due to it being brand new. I was told that it was due to an “improper draw” (I drew the back the same way when shooting the other Matthew’s in the store) causing the string to fall off of the cam & the cam to have a small dent in it. No one showed me this “magical way” to draw back a Matthew’s. I have been bow hunting a while and I have never in my life heard such an excuse. They were extremely rude and acted as though I was an inconvenience. I thought surely this is something they have done when the mods were changed. They told me it would not be warranted after he fixed it and told me “Don’t worry we got you”. I asked the guy helping me what the cost would be and when I went to check out it was over double what was quoted. I confronted the guy and they changed the price of the cam (still $15 over what was quoted) and charged full price for the string and labor. He then asked me “ Is that better”? I am extremely disappointed and have been in touch with Matthew’s. I do not understand why the people that are keeping you in business are treated so poorly. In addition to watching the owner mock customers on the phone, he was extremely rude to employees and customers in the shop. I honestly do not understand how this place is still in business with the lack of care for their customers.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, willing to share information and help customers make informed decisions on what they may need. Had 10 arrows picked, cut, inserts glued and tips on in less than 15mins. Will definitely return here for any archery needs and recommend others do also!

My son wanted to learn how to shoot with a Bow and Arrow and while on a trip to Greenville, we decided to visit Saluda River Archery. So glad we did. Friendly people, excellent lessons and we had so much fun. I think we are all hooked now and will purchase some gear and join an archery club. Thank you (to the nice lady who helped us today).

Matteja gave both of my children their first archery lesson, and they absolutely loved it. After their lessons, I bought each of them a recurve bow from here. I had gotten my own from here a few years earlier. We have really enjoyed using them. Everyone at Saluda River Archery is very friendly and helpful.

The people here are very welcoming and helpful. Even if you’re a beginner, they offer great support to help you learn how to shoot a bow. We always have a fun time shooting at the targets and will keep coming back whenever we feel the urge. We really appreciate the staff and their willingness to help everyone.

The whole group was so helpful especially Sarah and Ryan. Just starting out they made me feel like part of their family. Sarah gives great lessons as well as Ryan. Thx to all for making the experience great would highly recommend this place and these fine people
