As a first time gun owner, I'm so glad I was encouraged to take a safety class. The instructor Tom was very clear when explaining the basics of firearm safety, including how to hold, load, fire and unload a gun. As a woman who has never even held a gun, his instructions were very helpful. Tom was patient and respectful. By the time the lesson ended, I felt much much more confident. I encourage anyone who is a first time gun owner to take this class. It was very valuable.
I had to go to creamery to have a tire fixed. So I took my pistols with me after having the tire fixed stopped in to shoot the attendant behind the desk. Question me about how recently I had shot? I'm seventy two years old.I guess it was probably seven years ago, then he started quizzing me on the the 5 rules of shooting handguns, I never expected to be quizzed, so I got a little flustered, then he handed me a laser gun and a small target on the wall and told me to shoot at that then told me I could not use the range today. I was humiliated. I'll never go back
Very friendly employees. Lots of variety and tons of gear and ammo to choose from. They also carry reloading products. My quarrel is that they refuse to sell ammo and reloading components to NY residents. The reloading components, for instance, can be shipped to your front door in NY. Good shop, but I disagree with some of their policy.
Pros: Amazing 21st century range. Attentive staff that will jump in and correct mistakes without kicking you out. Staff that takes safety seriously (more on this)... Cons: Over the top and unnecessary skill and proficiency interrogation session. Literally unloads your magazines and checks every bullet. Irrelevant paperwork questions about specific firearms and your proficiency. I understand there are a lot of novice shooters out there, but not like this. NFA paperwork hounds: My man, its 2025, everyone and their mom has an NFA item. I don't want to hear about ATF agents that shoot at your range and will ask for paperwork from your clientele. What kind of selling point is that? I might come to your range and catch a charge? Seriously? I appreciate they asked me to just stash my firearm away after they realized it was an NFA item. They also didn't ask beforehand about NFA items, again, it's 2025 - add this to your pre screen. Final: This has the potential to be an amazing range. Tone down the policing. If you can deal with the hoops it can be a good time. I understand taking safety seriously, but it was way over the top. I am unlikely to return, even if that range setup is likely the best around. Hopefully I can edit this review in the future. If this is the closest range it can be good, just know you will be grilled.
I had an appointment that was already paid for, but my coworker is pregnant and she had an emergency. Therefore, I had to work overnight. I decided not to keep the appointment due to lack of sleep. That was a safety measure I took. I called and explained my situation and asked to reschedule. The guy who I spoke to on the phone told me that I wouldn't get a refund. I told him I didn't want to cancel. I wanted to reschedule. He said he will explain what occurred to his boss and someone will get back to me. No one called me. I lost $99.00 of my hard earned money. That's not right! Reply to owner of rip off target world. It's still not right, and the customer service is terrible as no one bothered to call me back. It's no wonder why you have so many bad reviews. I should have read the reviews before letting you take my money.
First time handgun purchase was done here, the crew at target world were amazing at helping me select the best weapon to protect myself and my family and reccomended that I take a lesson with one of their instructors(tom) Tom was very patient with me and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable, allowed me to ask questions. When we left the range I felt way more comfortable and the handling the handgun. And the actual purchase process was fast and simple I’ll be back!
Been coming here for years. Lately it’s been pretty bad. Really good selection but the guys behind the counter are pretty egotistical and talk down on anything you bring in to trade to try and justify their lowball prices. Their blatant fanboyism for certain brands and the “i’m better than you” attitudes have gone on for far too long now. They treat everyone as they are morons and they act like know it alls. Unfortunately I wont be returning anymore. The employees are just rude.
There are many other *safer* ranges to go to than this place. They are uptight and afraid of you, that makes this place dangerous. Be very careful if you go in, walk straight, chin up, and don't ask any questions, especially relevant ones. If you are experienced and know your stuff you still can't use the range. I wonder if it's possible to purchase a firearm. I didn't try.
Rich is the best! Solid range, great prices on rentals that are in good shape, and great feedback from range officers including Rich who took the time to give great instruction during a range session!
