Nice drive to the top!

Great spot for shooting

Approached from South side, carried mountain bike up hill. Great view, nice and quiet. The ride down was RAD (if you do this, please try not to skid your brakes) and I was definitely feeling the climb the next day. 10/10. Note that there are two Pistol Buttes. The Western one is the shooting quarry. The Eastern one is taller and the "road" to the top (from the North side) is not driveable even for a good 4WD. The top section is very very steep and blown out. My favorite is to ride/walk my mountain bike to the top, take a well-deserved break, then BOMB back down. This route is almost exactly a mile and some serious elevation, maybe 1000 ft. EXPERIENCED MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDERS ONLY!

Really nice drive! Rough roads up there so if you’re in a normal car beware! Didn’t see anyone else while out there, nice and quite!

Great place to get away and shoot.

We drove up on January 1st. What a GREAT place for sledding. The problem is that the roads are not plowed, so soon, we probably couldn't get up there without a hefty 4x4 of some sort...BUT, if you can get there to the top...way cool sledding hills all around!

A beautiful and easy drive up, and an even more beautiful view at the top. I didn't go shooting here, I just showed up for the views. But there were lots of shells, so I'd be mindful for any guns in the area going off.
