Defensive Shooting Academy - Tulsa Firearm Training

I learned so much at the Ladies only class. Great group of people made me feel safe and more confident. Highly recommend!

I'm a Army veteran that was trained on an M-16, but never received training on a pistol. I have not had any other training until I spent the weekend of 10/26-27/2024 taking Marshall Luton’s Advanced Combat Pistol 1 course, Marshall’s training took me to a level I didn’t know existed in myself. Marshall and Jeremy Snow did an excellent job of training a group of 13 men. I’m looking forward to attending another class in the spring of 2025 as my skills still need honing to become the best that I can be. 5 stars just does not seem to be enough for Marshall's Defensive Shooting Academy, I'd give it 10 stars if they were available. Just finished Red Dot Pistol course with Marshall, excellent trainer. Very enthusiastic person that loves what he is doing and makes it fun for everyone on the range. I will continue to train with Marshall Luton at Defensive Shooting Academy.

I got “ Training for intro to Firearms for Ladies Only” I had a lot of fun…and gained a lot of confidence and knowledge about self-defense and firearms use…..I love this class I new for live here not good english but i can do it

This was more than just firearm training. There was a lot care taken to teach how to spot predators and how not to be a victim. There was an emphasis on safety and a LOT of people there to walk everyone through the firing portion. I can’t recommend it enough for women new to firearms or just interested in a refresher. Plus, it was fun!

From my first experience training with these folks 9 years ago, to the current training I'm in - it is always top notch and first rate. Adding to my previous review—on 9/7/25 I took the Red Dot Essentials class. I’ve now trained with this crew for over 50 hours, and they never disappoint. Marshall continues to fine-tune my shooting, pushing me to grow and improve every time. In this class, I noticed my shots becoming more accurate while also picking up speed thanks to the introduction of the dot. Even at the very end of the day, I walked away with a critical lesson about how sunlight and reflections can affect the dot—something I’m grateful to have learned in training before ever facing it in a real-world situation. I pray I never need to use my gun, but thanks to Marshall and the DSA team, I feel confident in my abilities. Excellent firearms class with a gifted instructor. I took an intro to firearms course, and Marshall had a lot of extremely helpful information not only about the use of firearms but also how to avoid ever needing to use one for self-defense in the first place. He explained things well, happily answered any questions asked, made sure every single person in the class felt safe on the range, and gave thoughtful and straightforward feedback throughout. The money paid I for the course was a worthwhile investment, and I will 100% be taking more classes as soon as I can.

I give this training a 5/5 stars bc it was an amazing experience. I got my first pistol 4mths ago. I got it for safety but quickly realized I didn know how to be safe with it. So I kept it at home in a drawer! After this class, I conceal proudly! I practice in front of my mirror, I know what to do and why. Im ready to go to the range knowing I don't need any help! I had fun, I was excited. My favorite part was Target practice, what an accomplishment! The instructor shared real life situations and taught me what to look for to be safe and how to be legal. He got my mindset prepared for such a big responsibility, especially in public, and with kids. The instructor Mr. Marshall, made things more than safe and had a GREAT group helping me try different guns, to find what works best with my little hands. Ladies this class is a must. This group of trainers were passionate and professional. I'll be back for what ever else they facilitate!
