Deer Creek Wildlife Area Shooting Range

Fan - Tastic govt. owned range. Even after a downpour it's not a muddy, sloggy mess. The shelters over the firing line are a GREAT comfort on hot, sunny summer days. The clientele has always been admirably considerate and always practices proper muzzle safety ... so far. I'm sure some braindead baboon exists that can mess it up for everyone. The weekends are VERY popular so, if possible, visit on Wed. or Thurs. and you will, at times, have the place all to yourself, and for extended periods. I was there Wednesday and although the occasional shooter showed up, I had a glorious day of un-rushed shooting that allowed me to sight-in 3 new optic/weapon arrangements. NOTE: the Ranger that used to work the place has moved on, so "signing in" is now on the honor system. It's still monitored by the "Po-leese" so don't risk not having the State required permit.

I like shooting outdoors and this is a great place to shoot

Is a good shooting range the only bad thing is that you cannot shoot fast and you have to pick up your bullet cases but a it is a good shooting range

Nice well kept range 100 50 and 25 yrs ranges. Covered shooting benches. Very reasonable use cost On odnr web sight. Check in is simple at the window. Range use education offered at check in. Never been very crowded when I've been there

You can't do nothing here. They won't let your double tap they won't let you rattle off a few rounds. It's one shot at a time with the two second pause in between. Bologna

It's Deer Creek, so if it's been raining allot call ahead, parts of it flood so may be closed. Otherwise great place to shoot.

Went to the free range day today. Had a great time. Spoke to range master Bill, and he was very informative. Answered all our questions intelligently with no disrespect. I purchased a year long permit and expect to return quite frequently.
