Excellent, sprawling range with lots of handgun shooting variety and rifle ranges out to 1000 yards. Shotguns and archery are covered also. It is nicely maintained. Club rules are reasonable and are thoroughly communicated at orientation. The location works well if you live in Rio Rancho (from my home it is a 25-minute drive). It is true, however, that if you do not have a pickup or other high-clearance vehicle, then the dirt roads taking you to this club will be a challenge. It can be done, but you'll need to be careful and drive slowly. Another disadvantage to the location is if a medical emergency were to occur. They do have a protocol, but help would not get to you as quickly as if you lived closer to town. Personally, with all that considered, I like the away-from-it-all feeling.
Great place to shoot
Great place.
I really love this range. It’s kept very nicely and the wildlife around it is really cool to see
Way way way out in the middle of nowhere :) Shot the SW ICORE Regional there. I'll be back.
great range and great matches. expect dirt roads to get there and their not responsible for how graded or nice they are so don 't complain. Great time and great RO's
This is a great place to shoot sporting clays, skeet, and trap. There are two clays courses: the South Course is on a flat ridge top, and the North Course is in an arroyo, so between the two, there are lots of different target presentations. The North Course has tower targets thrown from a ridge top, making for 50 feet high clays to challenge advanced shooters. DNGC offers handgun and rifle target shooting, too, although I have never done this there. DNGC is a membership club, maintained Wednesday mornings by members. Thus, it is closed from Tuesday evenings through noon Wednesdays, but open otherwise. Members may escort nonmembers to shoot with them. DNGC is gated. Safety rules are strictly enforced. It's my favorite NM shooting facility.
