Great free gun range.
Great place to shoot just check the range schedule for the different shooting club events
Very fun to go out and spend some time shooting targets!
Convenient, free, and no issues.
Easily the most impressive 'free' public range I've been to. No frills, but the facility is nice and kept clean.
Shotgun ranges are excellent, while pistol/rifle ranges are little more than bermed alleys. No range safety officers, no water, no shade, and thoroughly disgusting Port-A-Sans. No excuses for such shoddy facilities.
Love coming out here to practice, you'll hear many types of beautiful sounds in the air. Sometimes it's birds, or loud obnoxious cars on the highway, or the sound of many different guns going off. The place is always clean I don't think I've ever been here where it's dirty. If only the city streets were this clean. That's really my only complaint is the city range is cleaner than any part of the whole city.
Impressive facilities and accommodations for shooting range amenities, facility layout and design. Having been a competitive shooter and instructor I have seen a lot of ranges of all types, but this is a few levels above most. Phoenix valley ranges seem to be lacking in a variety of areas, whether the frustrating range and relay delays, limited shooting points, lack of tables and benches to shoot from, fully uncovered shooting points at all locations, and a host of other public range deficiencies and limitations. Not only are there a wide range of range designs and dimensions for rifle, pistol, rifle and pistol, shotgun only, etc. but the facility is very clean and is unbelievably FREE. I visited during the week and it was almost entirely empty. The very few shooters I met on the range were very helpful and pleasant to work with. Very simple and easy communicating for hot and cold lines, staying away from the shooting tables while others are downrange, and a number of other self policing and citizen safety coordination. The shooting benches are a few different styles on the far west range, but there are at least 8 benches with some that have the concrete table with the left and right seat swing mechanism for positioning yourself left or right of the table centerline. I will be planning to visit this range with a wider variety of ranges and distances, but highly recommend this facility, with the obvious advice of keeping the range clean, picking up your brass, targets and trash, etc. Most ranges here will require you to bring your own targets and staplers, or tape at a minimum. It can get windy, so staples work best. They do have one outhouse I saw, which is always a plus for those who might need to use it.
Clean and practical!
