Shot archery. Great venue.
Great place to practice
Heartland Shooting Park is a sweet place to go shooting. I went to the 300 yard range and then went to the 600 yard range where the F Class Competition is held. They have all kinds of different outdoor shooting. I'm pretty sure Hornady runs it which is awesome. The staff is very friendly and makes sure the rules are understood. A day pass is pretty reasonable considering all the shooting options.
Tom Busch and his crew have created something truly special.
Shot a match here and it included a day pass for the other ranges. They have steel and paper targets for free at all ranges. All ranges are shaded. There is a range safety officer patrolling around. The only more unusual rule was that empty chamber indicators are required for everything. They did not harass me for rapid fire as I was actually hitting steel, if they ask you to slow down, get better first. The pistol and rimfire ranges have cable reset Polish plate racks that are a blast and some are side by side so you can race your buddy. The long distance (200-600) range has concrete culverts at the 100 yard line.
Good overall ranges, safe and friendly people. Definitely will be back.
We went here for the 4H National shooting sports competition. It is a huge facility with great shooting ranges and accommodated over 700 contestants.
