I had a fantastic experience at NW Shooter. I am a first time gun owner and these guys were very helpful with dialing in my rifle and giving me newbie pointers. The range was a blast and the shooters next to me were great. I’ll be back next week

So I'm a novice to handguns and purchased a Springfield .40 XD-m for LAST RESORT BEAR ATTACK.... As we are hiking extensively at Glacier National Park. I had gotten some in-service back home as im a long rifle enthusiast but ZERO affinity of handling a handgun.. I put about 100 rounds through it back home and the man instructing me was VERY qualified and pointed out how TERRIBLE my muzzle awareness was.. NOW I KNOW .. 1,000% different than long rifle .. the carelessness is dramatic until you become self aware of it ... Standard trigger safety is the same of course... however firing a semiautomatic with a grip safety takes some getting used to .. FIRM CONTROLLED GRIP to minimize recoil inaccuracies is PARAMOUNT... I got some instructions on different grip styles, changed my grip size .. got instruction and feed back as I was learning the process of accurately firing my weapon... I can't thank them enough ... Don't be that guy that they think they know it all ... they will be more than happy to HELP you along .. As a matter of fact I think they prefer you be the guy WANTING to learn THE CORRECT WAY .. Ill be back
