I went to edit my review due to a spelling error, and for some reason this review is the most recent one. So I'll redo my review. My experience was two years ago. The range is beautiful. The rules are very easy to follow. To put it nicely, the man who runs this range is absolutely rude, and disrespectful. He ruins the experience there. I will never return. As you can see, a few reviews mention him, and his behavior. Hopefully, in the two years that I initially posted this review, they have found a new range officer? That range has come a long way over the years, and deserves a range officer that is more public friendly.

Favorite free place to shoot. Quiet, scenic, relatively less crowded & only a couple of shooting stalls

The bench set up is nice as well as the individual lanes. It's kind of limited though for handgun being there is only 2 pistol lanes for 10 yards. If you go alone you may be able to get into a lane otherwise you have to wait until someone is done. They do have a few 20 yard lanes for pistol as well so that is nice. The only other thing i really see as an issue is they don't really have a setup for patterning your shotgun for turkey/buckshot/birdshot EXCEPT for slugs. Had to add the note, According to the DNR website for this location, Slugs are NOT allowed. I was told by the DNR at this location that the only thing allowed there was slugs for shotgun. So it's beyond confusing.

Place was fine, but the staff is incredibly rude. As soon as we showed up he started rattling off rules in the most loud and condescending tone and even though we respectfully followed those rules he still chose to watch us the whole time breathing down our necks and nagging at us the entire time despite us not breaking any rules. Overall the man was on a total power trip and made the experience really stressful, if it was about safety he would’ve just let us be when he seen we weren’t doing anything wrong. won’t be returning, 1 star.
