Island Lake Shooting Range

9/27\25 First visit after they shutdown for updates. All new back drops and covered shooting bays were built on the rifle/pistol range. They got ride of the steel targets and portable targets on the 25 yrd range 😕 They have a good quantity of 100, 50, and 25 yrd lanes. Like all DNR ranges in Michigan no rapid fire no holster draws and no shooting from prone. It is a safe and family friendly range.

Such an amazing experience James was an awesome instructor for our group and so much patience. Can’t wait to come back

Went on 9/20 to shoot for the very first time, ever, with a group of friends. We got paired with Eugene for our trap shooting session. Not only was he cordial, but he exhibited an excitement and love for the hobby that helped amplify the experience. If Island Lake does an Employee of the Month, Eugene deserves it!

Had an amazing time! The facility was top notch and James is a super patient/excellent teacher! Would definitely come back again.

Nice facilities at great prices. Employees were cordial and instructive. Special thanks to James for giving us some great pointers to improve our accuracy during our trap shooting outing. Will definitely check out the rifle range next time we come!

Pistol and rifle range closed for renovations until september 24th 2025

Went today 8-27-25 and sign at building entrance states: "The rifle & pistol range is closed until Sept 24 due to renovations."
