Best staff great facility and open showroom
Great first experience at the FFA. Staff was great. Facility was accommodating. Looking forward to our next trip here.
I took my daughter who is Cadet here to try handgun shooting. The guys could not have been more encouraging and helpful taking all the time to ensure she had an amazing time. After the handguns she shot an AR15 in a really safe and friendly environment. Great value and a great way to ensure that children understand about firearms in a safe environment.
We attended the Firearm Safety and Shooting Class with our three kids, and it was fantastic! Landa made the kids feel confident and comfortable while still driving home the importance of gun safety. She even put me at ease, and I’m now looking forward to joining an adult class with her. HIGHLY recommend
I recently visited Florida Firearms Academy with a friend, and unfortunately the customer service experience was not great. My buddy thought he was on a family plan with his father, but when we checked the system with the employee, PJ, no plan came up. We tried a few different names, but it turned out there was no family plan and the membership had expired. While we were being respectful the whole time, we were met with visible annoyance and sarcastic responses from PJ. At one point, when I asked his name just to make conversation, his reply was, “What do you need that for, you want my social security number, where I live?” That felt unnecessary and unprofessional. We decided to continue without the membership, but the experience was very expensive for what we got. On top of that, we were almost double charged when leaving because there wasn’t any written documentation showing we had already paid before shooting. I’m not sure if this is the normal process or if it was handled differently because we’re younger customers, but it was frustrating to deal with. To be fair, PJ was helpful when it came to explaining the firearm itself, and I don’t think the entire academy has bad service. But overall, the interaction was handled poorly, and it left us with a disappointing impression.
Update: Anyone else notice that every negative review is "fake?" Sorry, not fake like all the other negatives are likely not fake. Crappy indoor range, which I could deal with if the employees weren't arrogant jerks. Not all of them but it definitely seems to be the theme from the owner on down. Additionally took some classes here which felt very unsafe. Too many people who didn't know what they were doing shooting and moving in an indoor range. Yikes. Never going here again. If u have to go to an indoor range, go to Shooters World where the employees are actually nice but my favorite range is Gun Craft in Ruskin and second favorite is Fish Hawk Sporting Clays in Lithia. Both are worth the drive and a million times better than FFA and unlike FFA they both offer great classes in a safe environment, as well.
I've been to about 10 gun ranges in my life and this one has the worst ventilation. Not only will you leave all sweaty (which I'm okay with), but the lead filled gun smoke doesnt ventilate downrange. It just floats in your face. Look up lead poisoning from gun ranges. It's a big health concern. That's probably why the people working there doesn't stand in the range watching over the shooters. You just shoot in a cloud of smoke and have irritated eyes and throat when you leave. Going multiple times a month will result in unsafe lead level in your blood. Please fix the ventilation and I will delete this review. I like going here but worried for my health.
We had a great experience participating in the kids fire safety class. The instructors was patient, kind and knowledgable. My children loved being able to practice what they learned at during the second half of the class. Besides offering great classes, the inside was decorated nicely and fun to look around. This place is great for all ages!
