The restocking fee was unreasonable. My original paperwork was lost.
Had some buyers remorse, I didn't ask enough about my first rifle! These guys are very friendly and will steer you in the right direction. But you need to know what you want :)
Nicole was very friendly and helpful when I couldn't figure out how to place an online order. Thanks Nicole and James!
Bought my first handgun here. Dominic was more than helpful. Answered every question I had and set me up with a perfect handgun. Definitely recommend him for your needs.
Merc is just the absolute best! He can make the most squeamish of people not only feel comfortable with guns, but totally CONFIDENT. Merc set me up with a gun I love and his classes have given me the confidence to know how and when to use it. Merc had me hitting targets dead on literally within 5 minutes of his instruction. There is truly no one who know firearms the way he does! His classes and private instruction have been worth every penny. I HIGHLY recommend! I'd give more than five stars if I could!
⭐☆☆☆☆ This morning, I received a notification from UPS that my item had been delivered. I called The Shootist and spoke with Hayden, who informed me that the package had arrived but said he didn’t know if he’d have time to get to it. I told him I’d like to pick it up today and asked if the afternoon would work. He asked what time, and I said 3:30 PM. He agreed. I drove to the store and arrived promptly at 3:30 PM. When I asked for my item, Hayden told me he hadn’t gotten to it yet and tried to send me away. I reminded him that we had agreed on 3:30, and he denied it, saying, “I never said that — that’s not my problem.” He glanced under the counter briefly and said, “Nope, your shipment isn’t here.” When I asked how we could track it down, he again said, “That’s not my problem. You’ll have to call UPS.” There was no attempt to help, no ownership, and zero customer service. Hayden, who claims to be the manager, was extremely unprofessional, dismissive, and rude throughout the entire interaction. Frankly, he should not be in a customer-facing role, let alone a management position. The Shootist may offer free shooting for women on Thursdays, but the experience was disappointing and concerning. There was no safety briefing, no guidance on which shooting stall to use, and no basic instruction or oversight. When I went to purchase ammunition, Hayden was extremely rude and dismissive. I was simply trying to buy bullets, but instead of helping, he lectured me about not buying a firearm through a third party and said I should only order through them next time — completely unprompted and inappropriate. Customer service and safety should be a top priority at any range, but that was clearly not the case here. I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
The Shootist Gun Range is hands down one of the best ranges I’ve ever been to. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and makes everyone, from first-timers to experienced shooters, feel comfortable and welcome. The range is clean, well-maintained, and safety is clearly their top priority, which I really appreciate. I also took the CCW class with Merc, and it was top tier. Merc is a phenomenal instructor, professional, down to earth, and straight to the point. He breaks everything down in a way that’s easy to understand while keeping it engaging the whole time. He doesn’t just teach you the law and safety, he teaches you mindset, responsibility, and how to be truly prepared. If you’re considering getting your concealed carry permit or just want a solid day at the range, I can’t recommend The Shootist enough. The CCW class alone is worth it, but pairing that with a range this well run makes it a no-brainer. I’ll definitely be back!
Knowledgable staff and excellent customer service. Took my C&C class here, 10/10 would recommend. Came back for 2 more and continue to build my skills. Looking forward to future classes.
I wanted to get my concealed carry permit. Denver Merc was my instructor. He held this course at the Shootist Gun Range. Merc’s knowledge of the law and responsibility of owning a gun is outstanding. His class was interactive and kept you interested. (Also entertaining at times). As for the Shootist range, the staff were courteous and helpful. Nice selection of guns and accessories. The range area was nice. There was never a moment that I felt unsafe the entire time I was there.
The Shootist offers unique and effective instruction, including advanced courses and dynamic shooting with excellent instructors. These courses are always evolving and incorporating the cutting edge of marksmanship and firearms skills of all kinds. They’re truly cutting edge for ability and mindset training, the essential and extended skillsets for responsible gun owners.
