A true professional. His Marine background is evident and a real enhancer to the topic. I took the CCW recertification course. It was significantly better than the prior CCW recert course. The instructor knows weapons, ammo, techniques and the law. The vignettes of courtroom scenarios were realistic and fluid as he played the role of a prosecutor questioning you as the defendant who had used deadly force. The venue is small but very adequate. Check out the bear skin on the side hall wall! Information required to pass the examination was covered thoroughly - albeit a bit quickly at times. The practical portion at the shooting range was, again, thorough and exacting. I learned a new technique of unloading and reloading the magazine with arms close to the body. Mr. Sanders examined the two targets used for accuracy with comments and advice offered. A learning experience in spite of being a recertification. An experience worthy of recommendation to others.

If you want the service to be slow and to redo your fingerprints come here. The process was a struggle and I had to come in again to re do the Livescan prints and wait a while for them to get approved. I ended up having to go to another company to get my Livescan fingerprints done successfully. And they were approved the first time within days. DO NOT GO HERE FOR LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTS.

My husband and I did a 1.5 hour session with Ricky today where we did a refresher in the classroom and then headed to the range to practice. We had so much fun! Ricky is the best at helping you feel confident, encouraging you, and teaching you everything you need to know. I’ve taken firearm courses with other instructors in North County but really none compare to Ricky. He has the wealth of experience and skill to help you learn and refine your skills! We loved getting to know him and will definitely be back to learn more!

Ricky was awesome. I took the 8hr CCW course in January 2025 and it was a great experience. Very informative and we discussed several useful self defense scenarios that may come up in a real world situation. I'll be taking his course again when it's time for renewal, and plan to take some other firearms courses from him in the meantime as well.

Ricky offers the most comprehensive and complete Concealed Carry permit class in the area. Using logic and experience, he provided confidence and knowledge that I can understand the law and carry my weapon for mine and my family's safety!

Honestly Ricky is such an awesome dude and a great instructor, went there with very little knowledge, and Ricky educated me to knowing everything I need to know to be a responsible gun owner. The Class was great for the CCW Course and Ricky made a lot of examples and scenarios making the class interesting and fun. I wish we had him as a firearms instructor in the Marine Corps that way all the Marines will be able to shoot expert every time. Hands down really recommend this place if you want to learn everything you need to know about firearms. The process is pretty easy if not he will make it to a way where its possible for you and guide you to the right path. AGAIN ANYTHING YOU NEED THAT IS FIREARMS WISE WHICH IS TRAINING OR STARTING YOUR CONCEALED CARRY PROCESS OR YOUR FIREARMS SAFETY COURSE, Ricky will make your success his mission and put the mission first because thats what Marines do! Ricky is top notch. His knowledge and experience in the industry and ability to teach is amazing. Situation and scenario training, help you realize things you would not think of and mentally prepare you for real world. Definitely will be returning.
