They have a good facility in terms of range tech and setup for targets. But there are 2 big issues- they have everything in one big room, and allow rifles with muzzle brakes next to pistol shooters. Which also adds to the second issue of poor ventilation and you get smoked screened sometimes. Also in terms of their gun store they do not have good pricing.
Joined as member. Great facility. Friendly helpful staff. Always polite and friendly
I don’t know who the red head lady here is, but she never shuts up, she thinks she knows everything! Last few rifles I had shipped here and always they are quick and very professional, easy to deal with. I had plan on only having all my guns shipped here, but the red head lady here ruined that, I’ll never do business here again. If you do business here, avoid her like the plague! Back to finding another good gun shop I guess.
Little did I know that gifting my husband and adult son a few private shooting lessons at SGC would turn into such a great experience for both of them. Range Master Matt’s comprehensive firearm familiarization process and excellent range training took two totally green people and turned them into confident gun handlers - all while making it fun. He truly has a knack for instruction. What a great life skill investment this was!
I’m giving 3 stars in hopes that this review will offer a coachable moment. I purchased a firearm and other items from SGC after researching a few shops in the area. The overall process was straight forward and when I asked about their other services (ccw classes, range membership, body armor, etc) it seemed like a decent place to join. However, the conversation outside of specs and business was strange. Telling me “welcome to America” once finding out that I relocated from Los Angeles was odd and telling me not to lie on my background check “like hunter biden” was unnecessary. I didn’t feel the need to explain my political stance while going back and forth with an employee of SGC. 1) they seemed to have assumed and had their mind made up already 2) they’re armed and you’re not, which makes for an unfair disadvantage in any exchange. You’d be alienating yourselves from a majority of the country and I just don’t understand how that is good for business. I prefer professionalism and a neutral/objective environment when purchasing my firearms. I can’t tell you if this is the case beyond the sales floor, but I sure don’t plan to step inside an enclosed range with the risk of that being true.
Friendly staff, clean facilities, and a very safe shooting environmemt. I will be back.
On 8/7/25 I took the Teir 1 Intro to Handguns class. 3 years ago, before I moved to Arizona, I worked at a training facility back in Wisconsin. I'm a little rusty and was looking to brush up on the fundamentals. This was the perfect class for that. I was in a class with I think 6 or 7 other students of all different levels of ability. Matt the instructor, was awesome! He articulated everything that was necessary in a way that was very easy to understand and retain. Dillon was there as well. He showed great patience and the ability to help students with some brief 1 on 1 help. These are a class act! I will definitely be back and take more classes.
