Super nice
Nice place for shooting
Excellent outdoor shooting range, not for the lazy or inconsiderate since users are expected to follow rules and help clean up after themselves. Love that they provide steel targets and do not allow users to bring their own, keeps people from bringing and leaving junk and garbage. So far everyone I have met here have been cool people. *** 2025 UPDATE **** So the only real issue with using any BLM facilities such as this is their lack of advance notice for closure dates due to "fire season" I almost drove all the way out here and luckily pulled up the location on Google Maps to notice it marked as "temporarily closed" before I got to far down the road. BLM needs to do a much better job at posting Fire Season and other open/closed dates on the individual sites for each location!!!

Okay, but seriously the amount of improper gun control is wild. Watched 3 guys swing around the two handguns they were sharing. I get it once you have confirmed a gun is empty your guard goes down a little, but gun range rules and just fun safety in general is all guns are treated as if they are loaded. Don’t point it at anything or anyone. The worst part was the guns they brought kept jamming because they were being used improperly. While jammed they were also swinging them around. Be safe out there! Only one range person on and they didn’t say a word. On a positive note I went twice that day. The first time only one family was there with their kid and the kid had better gun safety than some of the adults I saw later that day. The range person was keeping it very clean. 5 stars for the cleanliness and 3 stars because it’s dangerous and doesn’t need to be.
Excellent sitting experience. During the day it’s not busy and you can pull up, get out, and shoot.
I try to come here at LEAST once a month. This is my go to spot because it's free, relatively close to home (30min) and the volunteers are always friendly. Just wish the closer pistol targets would get replaced/repaired.
